01 About the Contest
As an open-source RISC-based instruction set architecture, RISC-V has attracted significant attention across industrial, scientific research, and educational sectors since its inception, experiencing rapid growth and soaring popularity.
Today, RISC-V is globally adopted, with over 10 billion processor cores deployed worldwide. Chinese companies are now playing a pivotal role in the RISC-V ecosystem. According to research data, Chinese companies account for approximately 50% of global shipments, making them indispensable contributors to both technological advancement and real-world applications.
As a leading provider of one-stop chip customization services and semiconductor IP licensing in the semiconductor industry, VeriSilicon continues to advance the RISC-V ecosystem. The current competition aligns with emerging trends in AIoT and smart wearable devices. VeriSilicon has developed the VeriHealth Smart Wearable Platform, which integrates RISC-V core technology with its proprietary Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless connectivity solutions. In addition, the company has developed a structured, progressive curriculum and professional competition tasks specifically designed to cultivate IC talents. More specifically, the curriculum and competition tasks aim to strengthen university students' innovation and practical abilities in embedded chip and system design, and stimulate students' creative thinking and passion for embedded system development. In addition, VeriSilicon also aspires to help students comprehensively master multi-level knowledge and skills ranging from driver development, algorithm implementation, and performance optimization to application solution design.
The N309 RISC-V main processor core and the Nuclei Studio development toolchain used in this competition are generously provided by Nuclei Technology.

ABOUT SOPIC
Established in September 2024 in Zhangjiang, Pudong, Shanghai, the Shanghai Open Processor Industry Innovation Center (SOPIC) is headquartered on the 15th floor of Building 1, Chuangxin Tiandi, No. 52 Jichuang Road. As a non-profit organization, it was co-founded by leading domestic semiconductor design companies including VeriSilicon, Nuclei Technology, and DAMO Academy (Shanghai).
SOPIC serves as an industrial nexus bringing together RISC-V ecosystem stakeholders, including chip designers, IP vendors, system integrators, software developers, OEMs, and top-tier research institutions, to co-develop critical generic technology platforms. By fostering open hardware architecture to accelerate open-source software ecosystems, the center drives the industrialization and commercial deployment of RISC-V technologies.
Complementing its technical mission, SOPIC partners with China's leading universities through three integrated channels: co-developing RISC-V-specific curricula, establishing joint research laboratories, and creating applied training centers. This tripartite approach systematically cultivates professionals with cross-functional RISC-V expertise, ensuring a sustainable talent pipeline to power the ecosystem's evolution.
