
China RISC-V Industry Consortium (CRVIC) is chaired by VeriSilicon, with Ingenic Semiconductor, Shanghai Geyi Electronics, Nuclei System Technology, and Timesintelli Technology acting as vice-chairs. Its founding members include: supply chain enterprises such as UNISOC, Amlogic, Espressif Systems, C*Core Technology, and Huami, academic institutions such as Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Xidian University, and University of Science and Technology of China, and investment corporations such as SINO-IC Capital Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund. CRVIC strives to address key challenges in promoting RISC-V in China by adhering to the principle of openness, cooperation, equality, and mutual benefiting. It aims to establish a domestically developed, fully controlled, and highly secure RISC-V computing platform, in order to foster the development of a comprehensive RISC-V industry ecosystem spanning IP cores, chips, software, systems, and applications.
1. July 2018: The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization issued China’s first RISC-V related support policy.
2. September 2018: The Shanghai Integrated Circuit Industry Association recommended VeriSilicon as the first chair to lead the establishment of the CRVIC.
3. September 2018: Within 10 days, over 60 companies and institutions—including UNISOC, Empyrean Technology, Ingenic Semiconductor, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, University of Science and Technology of China, and SINO-IC Capital Shanghai Branch—joined the CRVIC.
4. October 17, 2018: The official inauguration ceremony of the CVRIC was held.
As of the end of January 2025, the CRVIC had a total of 198 member organizations.
